Editorial policy

Wall of Optimism is a public collection of personal reasons to believe the future can be beautiful. This page explains how letters reach the wall and how the collection is organized.

How letters are selected

Anyone can submit a letter for free, in any language. Writers do not need to provide a title, name, country, or theme. Published letters are presented in the writer's own words, with only the beginning used automatically as the page heading.

A voluntary contribution can help support hosting and maintenance, but payment never determines whether a letter is accepted, where it appears, or how prominently it is displayed.

How moderation works

Every submission passes through an automated first filter designed to identify obvious spam, links, contact details, hate speech, threats, explicit content, and sensitive personal or financial information. Messages that trigger this filter are held back from the public wall.

Automated moderation can make mistakes and does not replace human judgment. Published letters may be reviewed, hidden, or removed when necessary. To report a letter or request a review, contact the team at contact@bewide.ai.

How themes are determined

A writer may optionally choose the main theme where they would like their letter to appear. That choice is given priority. When no theme is selected, or when a letter clearly touches several subjects, the wall can identify additional themes from the language used in the message.

Theme detection currently recognizes common signals in English, French, and Spanish. A letter can appear in up to three relevant collections. Categorization never changes the letter itself and may be refined as the collection grows.

Who manages the project

Wall of Optimism is an independent public project maintained by the team behind the site. The team manages hosting, moderation tools, editorial collections, privacy requests, and corrections. Operational and editorial inquiries can be sent to contact@bewide.ai.

Corrections and removals

Writers and readers can request a review or removal through the contact address above. Include the public URL of the letter whenever possible so the request can be handled quickly.
